Dr. Lisa Anderson, past resident, installs "Precious"

Past resident Dr. Lisa Anderson is going to Denmark to install the sculpture "Precious", composed of thousands of wine glasses, at its sand dune site in Byron Bay. On her website, she explains that "The special qualities of the mathematical formulae of repeated unit and the reflective surface of the 3,000 glass bowls represents a life of preciousness upside-down."

"This work is a series of 30 images created by Lisa Anderson while undertaking an artist-in-residency at Redgate Studios in Beijing during 2010. The studios are located within artists compounds sited in villages in the semirural/industrial west of Beijing. These villages and hutongs are rapidly changing with the centrally led modernisation of China programs of construction. Thus the opportunity to create art there during these changes was poignant."
